Brain health · Stress · RecoveryWhen Stress Feels Normal
The Missing Skill in Longevity
We invest in nutrition, exercise, sleep, and preventive medicine to support longer, healthier lives. But what happens when our bodies become so accustomed to operating in fight-or-flight that we no longer recognize we’re stressed? We keep performing, producing, and pushing through—often unaware that our nervous systems may be repeatedly returning to high alert without adequate recovery. What are the consequences for our long-term health, and what can we do differently?
In this interactive session, Whitney Natiello, Licensed Acupuncturist and Certified Brain Health Professional, explores the connection between brain health, stress, and the body’s ability to recover. Through a brief Performance vs. Recovery Check, participants will examine whether their brains are truly recovering from life’s demands—or simply becoming better at pushing through them. Whitney challenges the assumption that functioning well means we’ve fully recovered from stress and introduces practical approaches to early intervention, including her B.R.A.I.N.S. Technique™—a brief process designed to help address distressing experiences before they become longer-term patterns.
